The Presario R3000Z
Okay, I've been thinking about it for a while and I decided the Compaq Presario R3000Z is the notebook computer I want to buy. I still have a few questions left, though. I have it customized pretty much the way I described, but I'm left with a few questions: 1. Is the 12 Cell battery worth it? It's only $25 more but it might add 3/4 of a pound to this already hefty laptop (between 7 and 8 pounds I think). 2. I want a memory card reader. The ones I saw in Best Buy have a 5-in-1 that doesn't include Compact Flash (I can live with this). At Compaq, it says "A 5-in-1 memory card reader is included when configured with a 64MB graphics card. " on this page but it doesn't mention that when you go to customize it. Instead it offers a "Built in Bay w/USB Digital Drive and 64MB" for $29. The 64MB here is an SD Card (from the "help me decide" link for that feature). So do I have to buy the "Built in bay" option or not? 3. I've heard I can get RAM much cheaper elsewhere. Do I buy it from them or get the bare minimum (256MB) and upgrade after? 4. What kind of warranty should I buy? I think I want more than the basic one - those generally require you to pay for shipping and wait longer for repairs. Four questions is not actually much compared to where I was a week or two ago.
