WoW: Quests for Gnomes & Dwarves around level 10
I started playing a Gnome Warlock a week or two ago and I was stunned at how easy it was to go from level 1 to level 12. I guess part of it is just that I've done it a few times before, but with no rest XP this character still just rocketed through everything. Warlocks are tough in PvE. I don't know if this was always the case or if they got buffed in the 2.0.1 patch but I'm really enjoying it now. Right now I'm letting him rest up so I can grind out some levels even faster. I thought it'd be a good time to write up some of the quests I cruised through. The early levels are easier once you're on your second or third character but each starting zone is a little different and nobody likes running back and forth more than they need to. I like to just jump right in some times, but if you take the time to read about the quests you'll be doing then you can stack them up and get more than one thing done at a time. Generally it means getting a quest before you go somewhere so that you can kill mobs or gather stuff while you're there. I started off with my Gnome in Coldridge Valley. The quests there are very straightforward and lead to getting you to the inn then out of the valley and into Kharanos. The passage to Kharanos has some Troggs in it that you'll be able to easily fight off after level 4. On the other side of the passage you can follow the road east and north up to Kharanos. Set your hearthstone to the inn there (talk to the innkeeper and make it your home). There are three places that I picked up quests in the area, but there are probably some more around that I haven't done. First there are a couple around Kharanos itself. Next there are a few from Stonegrill's Depot. Third was Brewenall Village. When you arrive in town your quest log is probably very nearly empty so pick up all the quests as you see them, there's no reason not to. I'll break up the quests by the area you get them. The areas you have to visit in order to complete the quests overlap with these.

Cooking in Kharanos

Just in front of the inn stands Ragnar Thunderbrew. His quest (aptly titled Beer Basted Boar Ribs) will give you a recipe for Beer Basted Boar Ribs in exchange for 6 Crag Boar Ribs and a mug of Rhapsody Malt. The malt is sold inside the inn for just a few copper and the Crag Boar Ribs are dropped by the boars in the area. You can collect them easily as you're working on the other quests in the area.

Steelgrill and the Leper Gnomes

Pilot Bellowfiz sends you off to Brewenall Village to see Rejold Barleybrew. Rejold has a delivery for you to make. He gives you a barrel of Shimmer Stout to bring to one of the guards on the Southern Pass to Loch Modan. Then there'll be a subsequent trip to bring a cask to a tower just the other side of the second part of the pass. The southern pass has two tunnels - the Shimmer Stout quest ends in between the two tunnels at Mountaineer Barleybrew and the Stout to Kadrell quest ends at Mountaineer Kadrell in a tower outside the second tunnel. Here's the list of these three simple quests. Do the first part now but save the rest until you're ready to move on to Loch Modan. Another one of the pilots in Steelgrill's Depot, Pilot Bellowfiz, starts you off on another set of quests. Do the first quest, Stocking Jetsteam, before you head out to Brewenall Village because the next quest, Evershine, takes you over to Brewenall, as do a couple others. The Young Black Bears that drop the needed Thick Bear Fur are found all over the area south and a little west of the Depot (map). The Crag Boars drop Boar Meat in the same area. The Grizzled Den mentioned in the quest is a good place to look (map), and while you're there you'll also find Wendigo and Young Wendigo which drop the Wendigo Mane you need for The Grizzled Den quest given by Pilot Stonegear in Steelgrill's Depot. Finally, in front of the Grizzled Den you'll see a tent and a crate. The crate is the objective of Ammo for Rumbleshot. So after turning in the Thick Bear Fur and Boar Meat for Stocking Jetstream, as well as completing The Grizzled Den (both back at Steelgrill's Depot), pick up the Evershine quest and you're just about ready to head over to the west for Brewenall Village. Before you go though, be sure to pick up Operation Recombobulation. This quest is given by Razzle Sprysprocket - a guy in the basement of one of the houses near Steelgrill's Depot.

Brewenall and the Frostmane Trolls

In Dun Morogh you also pick up a quest to explore Frostmane Hold and kill 5 Frostmane Headhunters. Frostmane Hold is a cave far to the west of Brewenall Village. To complete the quest you have to get pretty far in to the cave. The Frostmane trolls in here are around level 9 or 10. A couple quests require you to head toward Brewenall Village. Rejold's New Brew (mentioned earlier) is picked up at Steelgrill's Depot. Once you find Rejold he has some things for you to do as well. The first quest is The Perfect Stout. For this quest you need to collect Shimmerweed from some Frostmane Trolls. I wandered all over looking for them but it's actually pretty easy to find. Head directly east from Brewenall across the Iceflow Lake. There's a path that leads up the mountain on the other side. When you get up there you'll find Frostmane Seers and other trolls. At least half of them are casters. The trolls drop shimmerweed but it's much easier to get it out of the baskets. There's also a bridge that leads north over the frozen river to a camp with some more Frostmane trolls. You can see where they all are on this map from Thottbot. Rejold is also the guy you need for the next stage in some of the quests you got earlier. When you complete Evershine by meeting him, he'll give you a the next stage, a quest called A Favor for Evershine. This is a good grinding quest, you have to kill a bunch of Snow Leopards, Elder Crag Boars and Ice Claw Bears. With my warlock this couldn't have been easier. The toughest part was tracking down the corpses after they died. All of the creatures you have to kill for this one are near Brewenall a little to the west. Once you return to Rejold he'll give you the cask of Evershine to bring back to Steelgrill's Depot to complete the last stage (Return to Bellowfiz) of the series of quests. Before you go back though, you can head north toward Gnomeregan. There you'll find Leper gnomes (map). They drop the parts you need (8 Restabilization Cogs and 8 Gyromechanic Gears) to complete Operation Recombobulation. This ends up taking a little grinding, since a leper gnome will drop either a gear, a cog or occasionally both. That means at least 8 gnomes but more likely 20 or so. It's far enough away from the Brewenall quests that this one would be okay to leave for another day if you run out of time. I didn't go exactly step-by-step here but hopefully there's enough to help get you started with a lowbie gnome or dwarf on some good questing and grinding XP.

Good, just a few mistakes i'd like to point out. :) First of all, Dun Morogh is the entire area, including Coldridge Valley, Brewnall Village, Ironforge, etc. The little village with the Inn is Kharanos.

Secondly, the area with the leper gnomes is Gnomeregan, not Gadgetzan.

Anyways, besides that it's great. :D

Right, Gadgetzan's a bit out of the way :) Thanks for the note, I've updated the post and it should be more accurate now.

thanks mate you really helped me to get to grips with wow.Could you tell me were the wetlands are?

There's a harbour called Menethil in Wetlands which you can reach by boat if you're coming from the Darnassus. If you're in the Eastern Kingdoms then follow the road east from Ironforge then north and the road goes north through a mountain pass. Eventually that should take you out into Loch Modan. Follow the road all the way north through Loch Modan and you'll go through another mountain pass and that will come out in the Wetlands.

For bonus marks, you can stop off at the city of Thelsamar in Loch Modan and the gryphon point on your way by. Once you make it to Wetlands then take the road north then west if you want to get to the boat at Menethil Harbour.

Good luck,
