As promised, I've got a whole bunch of
pictures from today at E3 2006, and Candace has a whole bunch of her
E3 pictures here. Most of them are screenshots of upcoming or recent games. Some are just the show floor. A word of warning: I'm no professional photographer and I'm trying to get as many photos up as I can as fast as I can, so the quality sufferes. Some are dark, some are blurry, if you look close you might find some that are both. Deal with it :P.
So far
Candace and I hit everything that's worth seeing that we could see in the South Hall. The official theme this year is: Expansions!
Everyone's got expansions this year.
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade,
Civilization IV: Warlords,
Age of Empires III,
Dungeon Siege II: Broken World. The subtitle's the thing to have. It makes sense - games today are a huge undertaking for developers to build and can represent a huge investment of time and effort on the part of the player. These expansions all seem to recognize and reward the players effort. Expansions are a way to add some episodic content or some new characters, places or things to a successful game. It's also a great way to address player complaints and react to common player strategies.
World of Warcraft is the one I've been looking forward to seeing. Well, at least for a week now. I'm still so new to WoW that I don't really know what's new and what's not. There were some big guys. And some little guys. And lots of shiny things. Whatever, just look at the pictures. I got a whole bunch of screenshots of the game but never sat down to play it today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe I'll just fire up WoW right now...
